Watercolor that I created as a tribute to my ancestor, Johann Nicholas Kutz (1691-1749) of the Kutz Grist Mill/Covered Bridge in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
I am a direct descendent of Johann Nichoas Kutz (1691-1749) one of two brothers who founded Kutztown, Pennsylvania. I traveled to Pennsylvania to visit Kutztown and related sites. The grist mill was built by the Kutz family and constructed in 1806. The bridge in 1854, spanning the Sacony Creek near Kutztown, PA. and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
